I hereby resign from my janitorial position at your complex.
After my first complaint regarding a similar incident, I was “reminded” of the NDA I signed when hired and that they would look into it. I have complained 42 times since then. Initially, it was the same auto-generated response saying they’ll get back to me. This went on for 6 months. After that, I finally got a real response telling me to stop flooding their system with requests and that I would be terminated for abusing their messaging system if I continued. What really crossed the line was my experience last night during my usual overnight shift. This will be my last.
The clouds grew more human shaped over time, and sometimes moved slightly. In fact, after a couple nights I noticed it was slowly moving towards me at the incinerator chute. I confronted it some nights, other nights I would experiment with it. When checking the footage, it didn’t react, instead continuing to stare into the lens of the camera. Last week, it somehow knew about my mother and decided it would take the shape of that from now on. I thought I was crazy, but after taking a video of the monitor screen with my phone I know that that is 100% in the footage. The ghost doesn’t show up on my phone camera, and for the longest time I thought I was going crazy but after last week I knew it was starting to go too far.
I am ultimately leaving because last night I heard my mother call my name from the intercom system. I don’t know why I heard that, or why that would ever be an integration into your system, but the audio was also picked up on the cameras. After 42 complaints and almost a year of this psychological abuse, I have no other choice but to abruptly resign from my position. I appreciate what you have done for me in offering me employment despite my background, but I will not be a guinea pig for some dystopian experiment. Your company, along with the Cloud, will be hearing from my lawyers soon.
